LATEST ADDITIONS Razz Rock Records has started a new talent assistance campaign offering one (single) song demo recordings to artists or bands at a flat rate price, to help new artists get recording experience and determination on their potential and direction. Additional hourly packages are available. Kingswood High School, of Wolfeboro, NH, has recruited RAZZLE Productions to participate in the “Kingswoodstock Battle of the Bands 2008”, as part of the judging team. The winner of the battle, International Toast, has been awarded a free song demo at Razz Rock Records studio. The sessions await scheduling! RAZZLE Productions has agreed to represent Andy Pratt, and Kid Pinky (of Concord NH), and Forge (also of Concord NH) for bookings on a New England regional basis. RAZZLE has confirmed 2 concert dates for Andy Pratt at the 2008 Topsfield Fair. The dates are October 4 & 5 in the fairgrounds grandstand. Andy will perform his songs in a full band format this year.
ADDITIONS Andy Pratt has signed a publishing agreement with Ran Song Express Publishing (part of the RAZZLE Productions company) for a potential upcoming Compilation CD of unreleased New material. The title of which has yet to be determined. The songs that will be included are of the world class songwriting stature this "One Of A Kind Artist" always delivers. 2007 New Hampshire Idol Winner, Brian Waldron, is currently working on his demo with the RAZZLE Productions team. Using some of his own material, Brian is hoping to do a full CD project. Brian has informed us that he has also begun work on forming a performance band to support the project. Pictures from the 2007 New Hampshire Idol Competition will be posted on the People page. This years competition was both challenging and rewarding because of the quality and quantity of competitors. A remarkable list of newly evolving artists has come from this endeavor. ADDITIONS Traditional Blues band Kid Pinky, of Concord, NH, has completed their 3-song demo in our studio for appraisal, and the mixing process has begun. Some excellent original blues music was captured. RAZZLE Productions will now be listing it's artists on DISCARK.COM (an affiliate of Superdups) as well as it's present listings on Itunes.com. The Presidential Targets and Exit 14 are the first to go on DISCARK. However, we believe that in the long run, for various reasons (more features, faster services just to name a few) we would like to nurture a long term relationship with this download provider. ADDITIONS RAZZLE Productions has singed a deal with Nassau Broadcasting and Laconia New Hampshire's WLNH FM 98.3 Radio to record a 3 song demo of the 2007 New Hampshire Idol winner at our studio. Along with producing the project from start to finish, RAZZ Rock Records has also been asked to be contest judges for the 3 final eliminations starting July 4, 2007 at the Independence Day festivities at Opechee Park; July 19, 2007 at the Margate Resort Hotel, both in Laconia, NH, and the final top 10 elimination at Meadowbrook US Cellular Pavilion, in Gilford, NH. Nassau Broadcasting owns 10 FM stations in the state of New Hampshire (including 106.3 FRANK FM, in Nashua, and WJYY 105.5 FM Concord, NH) that will be airing information in heavy rotation with regard to entries, the competition, and the prizes.There is more information on the LINKS page, so check out these stations for up to date developments. RAZZLE has also successfully solicited a sponsorship from Superdups of Salem, NH, for the package & fabrication of the winner's CD. Their offerings are of new special interest to both of our labels, considering the ability to fabricate on a local basis, and their web download possibilities. They are doing world class downloads the way it should be done, and the labels under RAZZLE will be working an affiliation deal shortly. Check their website on our links page! There are 2 new potential bands on the horizon for our indie labels and both are native to the state of New Hampshire. The names will be forthcoming pending determination of a relationship after a series of studio demos are completed, possibly evolving into signings. More news to come! RAZZ Rock Records has received a remarkably hot demo from a new artist in the Connecticut area that has caught our interest. There is hope to work something out with this artist. Time will tell! The music is most certainly excellent. Andy Pratt, recently returning from a sojourn to LA, after his performance at the 2007 SXSW Music Conference performance, has met with RAZZLE to discuss a possible new relationship in the area of CD release. Details to be released here, if and when all is inked. A potential new CD of unreleased material is in the opting. Also his memoirs book "Shiver In The Night" is now going into a new phase. Regional signings are the next appearance phase, bolstered by on site performances. Stay tuned for locations ADDITIONS RAZZLE Productions has been handling the national Andy Pratt book campaign with contacts in all areas of promotion including all US public libraries, the top 100 newspapers, major music magazines, and music stores both local, regional and on the web, along with the national book sellers, and independent book stores. Planning has also started to include Europe, in particular UK, and Holland where Andy's fan base is very strong. Andy Pratt and RAZZLE have agreed that the promotion phase will be upgraded to include video and DVD promo and book signing schedules. Andy Pratt's performance at the 2007 SXSW conference has had an additional promotional push to include book signing at their local Barnes & Noble outlet, a book review in the Austin "Statesman" newspaper, the week of the conference, and video clips being played on ME Television ( Austin's new "Music TV" cable network). There will, no doubt, be more news about this entertainer's resurgence very soon, as he moves toward another peak in his long and interesting career. It is now available in all the major book stores (Amazon; Barnes & Noble; Border Books) and will also in a select group of independent book stores throughout the New England area and later the United States. ADDITIONS Andy Pratt has signed a deal for RAZZLE Productions and Ran Song Express (the publishing end of RAZZLE) to publish his personal memoirs book called "Shiver In The Night". Work has begun on the assembly and fabrication of the book, which should be ready for the Christmas market. Pratt has an incredible history, starting as the great-grandson of a turn-of-the- century oil magnate, graduating from Harvard college, signing his first major record deal with Columbia. Working with an amazing list of recording industry giants, like Arif Mardin, Amhet Ertgun, Nat Weiss, and Clive Davis, just to name a few. He has worked with and used as his studio band musicians names like Steve Gadd, Tony Levin, Andy Newmark, Luther Vandross, the list goes on. ADDITIONS T Lavitz, one of the top "All Time" keyboard wizards was in the RAZZLE Studio to add keyboards tracks for the new Equation CD, which is approaching the final mix stage. The entire crew reported having a great time with this gentle and funny man. What an honor to work with him! "T" has had, what is without question, an amazing career playing in bands the likes of: Dixie Dregs, Jefferson Starship, Widespread Panic, Mothers Finest, Billy Cobham band, and Bill Bruford band. He is a founding member of Jazz is Dead (an instrumental exploration into the music of the Grateful Dead, with a membership list that includes the likes of Rod Morgenstein, Billy Cobham, Jeff Sipe, Alphonso Johnson, guitarists Jimmy Herring, and Jeff Pevar). "T" has recorded with and for Nils Lofgren, Pat Benatar, The Bluesbusters, and Peter Himmelman. Add to that, 6 Grammy nominations with the DREGS, and earning the coveted "Jazz Keyboardist of the Year" award in Keyboard Magazine's readers poll. HELLO???!!! WOW!!! Nothing more needs to be said! The Patent and Trademark Office has finally, after two years of waiting, issued the official registrations for both labels, Razz Rock Records and Rat Rock Records. A welcome relief for RAZZLE Productions, who can now join the ranks of the trademark portected business owners of the world. ADDITIONS RAZZLE Productions has been reviewing several new artists/bands for potential label affiliation and is considering which of them stands to work best for both parties. Pinball Junkies, a young punk rock band, has finished their first 5 song EP recording at the RAZZLE studio, and will be offering the recording at their gigs within the next month. Jeff Pevar, guitarist extraordinaire for the legendary Crosby Stills and Nash, also CPR (Crosby, Pevar, Raymond), and leader of several of his own project bands - Jazz Is Dead, The Jeff Pevar Band, has given RAZZLE Productions the green light to produce a live CD of a performance filmed and recorded last November at Black Eyed Sally's in Hartford, Connecticut. The proceeds for this live performance CD, whose title has yet to be given, is slated to be used to create a "seed" fund for a new film to be done on the career of this amazing guitarist, performer, songwriter. Jeff has worked for a staggering list of super star international artists, but has yet to garner the national acclaim he truly deserves. We intend to help, in whatever way we can, to get him to the next level. ADDITIONS RAZZLE Productions is going into stage two of it's radio campaign for the releases of both Exit 14 and The Presidential Targets. Both college and commercial stations are included, and regional promoters are now being considered for inclusion as new team members to take the CD's to the next level. Andy Pratt continues his demo work at The Hideaway studio, amassing an interesting batch of new songs. He has been discussing a publishing agreement with Ran Song Express Publishing/RAZZLE Productions (RazzRock Records) which will bring his music to this website and also give the RAZZLE team an opportunity to market his material. Time will tell on that front! In addition, RAZZLE Productions has been in contact with Sony/EMI to investigate his song rights catalog for possible purchase. He has also been invited to perform at this year's South By Southwest National Music Conference, which will include Neil Young as one of the main headlining performers. ADDITIONS The Presidential Targets will be performing for their CD Release Party at Alchemy, in New Haven, CT. on September 21, 2005 at 9:30 PM. It has been picked up by local radio in New Haven. Their CD will be in local stores to coincide with the event and will of course be available the night of the gig. The planning of a New England tour is in progress with dates to follow. Their website will be up by that time also. Exit 14, on Razz Rock Records has their CD arriving the week of September 19th and planning for their release party has started. Word on location and time will be forthcoming. Lots of excitement and interest has been boiling on this band. The UCONN campus will be buzzing once the first single reaches the campus radio station. RAZZLE Productions has New England's own Andy Pratt ("Avenging Annie" and many others) in their studio working on new song demos. The songs are all up to his usual standard of excellence, and it is reported he is as great as ever. Razz Rock Records has made mention of an interest to determine where he intends to go with all the new material, and whether a concerted effort would be of benefit to all. More news will no doubt follow! There has been a lot of construction on this website of late and it will no doubt continue as the label grows and adds more artists, and information to the content. Whatever interest brings you here please make a point of returning often so see what has been added. We have recently networked two recording studios to be affiliated with both labels to handle production for any of their artists. One in New Hampshire and one in Connecticut. The later being the present mastering studio for the projects, unless off site mastering is required (that being unlikely due to the quality of the facility's mastering gear). while the upgrade of the studio in New Hampshire to full digital is under way. A new aspect that has been added to our growing facility is its ability to arrange and produce major video production, for both live and studio filming. Also available to both labels is a nationally renowned film director (2 time CMA nominee) to our associate network. Newly signed Connecticut band, The Presidential Target, are set for an August 15th release date for their latest CD "Keeping The Dream Alive" , on Rat Rock Records. Their self-described "Slob Rock" fits in the same category as the Frank Zappa sound and tongue in cheek lyrical style. They are bound for higher ground. The label has some new and special plans for this band. News on this will be forthcoming. ADDITIONS EMC (formerly known as EVM), will be moving to RAZZROCK Records, and has been working toward the completion of their CD. This BBG (Baby Boomer Generation) band will impress you with their vocal harmonies carving through their instrumentally tuned melodies. Snippets will be added to the website for review when tracks are available. Newly signed to RAZZROCK Records is the Connecticut band called Exit 14, a love of life styled rock band. Their regional release titled "Virtues of Yesterday" is slated for August 15th, and will be headed for College airwaves, along with regional tour support. News Flash- Nashua, NH: Rat Race Records has been renamed Rat Rock Records. However, Rat Race Records might be back sometime in the near future. The most important issue that we should relate to the public at this time is that the owning company (RAZZLE Productions) has decided to expand what started out to be one "Indie" label into two separate labels, a sort of "Yin and Yang" of Indie music. One label being mainstream "indie", if that's possible, called RAZZROCK Records , and the other intended to be a more "Niche" oriented type of label with specialized material, is called Rat Rock Records. There are several new artists yet to be announced, that are being prepared for signing to these labels and are naturals for national notoriety. Their names will be forthcoming so check back for news.
